About this image
In another time, in another galaxy... Barsoom, the dying planet. But not dead yet...
At dusk, while the sun is still hiding behind the proud city of Ptarth, and the moons, Thuria and Cluros, are already visible in the crimson sky, a maid walks the surrounding deserts by the side of her faithful Banth, the fearsome Komal... She is Thuvia, daughter of Thuvan Din, princess of Ptarth (and beloved by no one but Carthoris, son of Dejah Thoris and John Carter of Jasoom, hero of mars!)
The Red Woman, fully dressed in the Royal Barsoomian fashion, has the power to command powerful beasts as her loyal Komal since her captivity by the evil Therns, the self-proclaimed Gods of Mars, and it also was at that dreadful time when she became the fierce warrior she is... But in the deserts of Barsoom, danger and high adventure are always awaiting! Who knows what evil lurks in the sands, what sinister plot is ahead, to endanger our beautiful princess again!

This picture I thought about making long ago, when I knew about the "Princess of Mars" movie being in the making and (sadly) the passing away of the master Frank Frazetta; his works have captivated the imagination of several generations, mine included. I wanted to pay homage to him with a themed "Martian" picture, but hadn't the time or the inspiration (As you can see I don't really have the talent to create a truly Frazettian set-pic). Then this pic appeared in the Skyrim nexus (Bison67 saving the day! Thank you friend), and I got too much occupied to play - if I may call it so :) - with Oblivion. But better late than never, so here it is! Hope you like it.
I want to homage too all the wonderful illustrators from the Mars saga of Edgar Rice Burroughs who, obviously, had inspired this picture and had produced so much incredible and awe-inducing illustrations for almost one hundred years - And maybe, just maybe, thanks to Edgar Rice Burroughs :).
Lots of mods involved; not all available here, but I will mention the one that allowed the perfect Barsoomian landscape: the very beautiful and hard-worked Ardah, by Stroti. The pic is made "on location" there, with a little retouching - OK, lots of it :D -, in-game and out of game. Thanks to all modders (*). See you!
(*) Now that I think about it, I am one of them! Talk about modesty :D
