The Imperial Legion guards stationed at the Gateway to the Shivering Isles were lax in their duties one evening and did not notice the lone Baliwog that came through the portal. A pregnant female, she quietly slipped into the dark waters of Niben Bay unseen. Along the shore she found a secluded spot and made her nest, laying half dozen eggs. Within a month the chirping of the hatchlings could be hear as they began to emerge from their eggs. The little Baliwogs thrived in their new home and quickly grew in adulthood.Prolific breeders, new nests began appearing along the shores of Niben Bay and their numbers in Cyrodiil quickly swelled. Now Baliwogs are a common sight along the Niben Bay, a bane to unwary travelers and slaughterfish alike. Niben Bay fishermen call them Wogs and curse the day that the Legion soldiers failed to stop that first Baliwog from slipping into the waters of Cyrodiil.

Wogs! makes it so that Baliwogs are now found along the Niben Bay shoreline. In addition, five new species of Wogs (the models of which are all based on the original Baliwog model) are added to the game: the Viper Wog, the Shivering Isles Dragon, the Mountain Drake, the Three-Horned Wog and the Dobhar-Chu.

I have created new leveled creature lists for the Wogs. The only standard creature lists I have altered are the SELL1Baliwog lists, and then only to add in the Viper Wogs. There should be little or no conflicts with other mods. The other creatures and items this mod adds also have been given unique lists.

Players will encounter different types of Baliwogs and Viper Wogs representing the different phases of their life cycle: hatching, pup, adult, matron and bull. Wog hatchlings are non-aggressive, but they are rarely alone. Nearby will be a very protective Wog matron that will attack anything coming close to her young.Pups are wary, but they can and will defend themselves. Adults always aggressively defend their territory, but will yield to a determined foe. Bull Wogs, however, will fight to the death.

Viper Wogs are different from their Baliwog cousins in that they are capable of poisoning the Player. The venom of a Viper Wog is potent poison that will quickly disable and then kill the Player if not cured. The Viper Wogs are distinctively colored, warning all of their poisonous nature. Viper Wogs do not become poisonous until they reach the pup stage. Viper Wogs are also found along the shores of Niben Bay.

Note: Viper Wogs cast a real poison spell (touch) at the player during combat and it can be cured with potions and/or cure poison spells. The stock baliwog model wasn’t given its own casting animations and the needed animations were ‘borrowed’ from other models. Thus when they cast the spell the animations are far from perfect.

Note 2: The poison spell category in the game is seriously gimped, which is probably why Bethesda didn’t use any in the vanilla game. The player can cast poison spells, but NPCs and creatures can cast them only through scripting. Even if a poison spell is the only spell in a NPC or creature’s spell list they will not cast it unless scripted. Also, resistance to magic ‘works’ against the effects of a poison spell. That said, everything else works for the poison spells as they should. Cure poison spells and potions remove the effects of a poison spell. When poisoned by a poison spell if you go into the inventory screen you will see your character with a sickly greenish tint, as will he/she in the third person view. I have given the poison spells new sounds and their own effects.

Note 3: My Poison Fx mod duplicates all the changes/additions to the poison spell category and therefore there is no reason to have it in your game’s mod list if you use this one.

Shivering Isles Dragons generally are only found in the Shivering Isles. There is a single one in a secluded part of Niben Bay. For the most part they are found only near their lairs, but players may on occasion run into one on the “prowl”. Shivering Isles Dragons are very powerful and formidable creatures. Lower level players are well advised to give them a wide berth.They have very distinctive and loud breathing which should give you ample warning that one is nearby (for those with the music disabled and thus having no battle “radar”).

The lairs of the Shivering Isles Dragons are small caves that are rather Spartan in terms of loot and items. They have been added just to provide additional areas for players to explore. In them players will find Mantidae, diminutive cousins of the Elytra. These are non-aggressive, but if provoked they will defend themselves with their poisonous stinger.I have retextured the standard cave meshes to fit in with both the Mania and Dementia landscapes. These can be considered a modder’s resource. The sets are not complete, however.

Mountain Drakes are found in the forests and mountains of Cryodiil. They are very powerful and formidable creatures, and very aggressive. Mountain Drakes range far and wide looking for prey and will attack just about anything.

Three-horned Wogs are peaceful creatures, unless provoked. They can be found grazing the grasslands of Cyrodiil in small herds. These herds are centered around a bull. The Three-horned Wog bulls can turn aggressive if the Player comes too close. If the bull decides to attack the Player the others in the herd will join in. Best to keep your distance from the Three-horns.

~ Version 1.2 ~

On moonless nights around their campfires old fishermen recount the legends of the Dobhar-Chu for their grandchildren. Anxious young ears listen intently to the tales of the elusive and fearsome creature that once swam the waters of Niben Bay. Attacking suddenly, viciously and without warning, the Dobhar-Chu pulled fishermen off their boats, and even the shore offered no safety as several fishermen were dragged into the water from there. Often the only sign of the attacks were the fishing boats smashed into kindling or the fishing nets torn and sundered, the victims never seen or heard from again.One tale often told was the story of Grainne, a young Imperial maiden from Bravil who ventured to Niben Bay one fine sunny day to wash her newly-woven wedding linens. When she did not return after several hours her husband became anxious and went off searching for his young bride. Along the beach he found the wedding linens floating in the water, bloodied. Frantic, he raced along the shoreline, calling out her name. Rounding a huge boulder he was horrified to find Grainne's mangled and broken body on the shore, the Dobhar-Chu feasting on the scattered remains. Wild with rage and grief, he unsheathed his dagger and charged, plunging the dagger into the fell beast’s breast. With a loud piercing hiss the Dobhar-Chu thrashed itself back into the water, and disappeared. Of what happened to the watery fiend, none could say. Some said the dagger’s strike was fatal and the Dobhar-Chu was no more. Others, however, claimed it was only wounded, swimming out to sea to heal, and would one day return to Niben Bay. The grizzled fishermen would often finish their tales by sending their grandchildren to fetch some water, telling them as they left on their chore, "Hurry back, or the Dobhar-Chu will come out of the water and grab you!" Recently word has spread around Cyrodiil of strange sounds coming from Niben Bay, and of sightings of an unusual creature swimming in its waters. The older fishermen whisper among themselves about the return of the Dobhar-Chu.

Version 1.2 adds the Dobhar-Chu to the waters of Niben Bay. It is a solitary creature that roams extensively in the waters of the bay. It is a creature of legends and only the hardiest of adventurers should venture into the waters of Niben Bay. If encountered in the water it will pursue you out of the water if you manage to escape on to the shore. It may even come out of the water to attack you while your exploring along the shore if it is nearby in the water. Once killed the Dobhar-Chu will not return.

Note: The model for the Dobhar-Chu was created with the available swimming animations in mind and as such its land animations are far from ideal.
Note 2: The Dobhar-Chu is based on one of the lake monsters of Irish legends of the same name.

Players can test out this mod by traveling to the Isles of Reptilia which can only reached via the console (~). Type coc BaliwogWorld after opening the console. You will be taken to one of Bethesda’s test worlds and the one I used to playtest this mod.I have completely redone the entire area to make it look like part of the Shivering Isles. You will appear next to a rowboat, in which you will find a barrel with items that may be of some help while exploring the area.

The main island is filled with Baliwogs, Three-horned Wogs and Viper Wogs. To the northwest is a smaller island with a Shivering Isles Dragon near its lair. To the southwest is another small island with a Mountain Drake on the prowl. In the waters to the east of the main island a Dobhar-Chu swims. Also, I have added in four new types crabs to this world. These are individually re-textured and have been added in strictly as additional eye candy. They are only found in the BaliwogWorld cells. These too can be considered a modder’s resource.

Note: I have released the re-textured crabs as part of my Mud Crabs! mod. If you are using that mod with this one Mud Crabs! should load after Wogs!
Note 2: For some reason the combat behavior/animations of the Viper Wogs in this world space are rather erratic. In the Tamriel and SI world spaces they perform as they should.

To explore any of the eight Dragon Lairs type coc SIDragonLairxx in the console. xx = 00 through 07.Outside the cave will be a Shivering Isles Dragon if you wish to do battle. Be prepared for a serious fight.

Wogs!_TI
~~~~~~~~~
This version is for use with my Tamrielic Ingredients mod and adds new ingredients and potions to the game. It is to be used instead of the Wogs! esp file and must load after any of the TI esp files. The following ingredients have been added:
Dragon’s Teeth
Mantidae Stinger
Raw Baliwog Leg
Wog Egg
Nose Horn
These items have been added to the following leveled lists:
SEVendorIngredients100
SEVendorIngredients50
VendorIngredientsCreature
VendorDagFood (TI list) – Wog Egg and Smoked Baliwog Leg only
Raw Baliwog Legs are not a food item. I have also retextured the smoked Baliwog leg model to look more “appetizing”.
Players will be able to use the blood vials from TI to collect venom from the Viper Wogs. When searching though a Viper Wog’s inventory in addition to the other items you may find a venom ‘token’. If you have a blood vial in your inventory you will be able to ‘collect’ the venom. The empty blood vial will be removed and replaced by a vial of Viper Wog venom. Otherwise you will receive a “You were unable to collect any venom” message and the venom token will be lost. The Viper Wog venom is a potion and may be used immediately to poison your weapons.
Wog Matrons without hatchlings have a random chance of carrying eggs. These will number between 2 and 6. Wog Eggs are a food item.
