==WHAT IT DOES==

SHORT: This mod allows you to use any training implement (chaindoll, hanging target, hay bail) anywhere placed by any mod. In addition, it offers immersive and intuitive training target finding as well as boasting a levelled, comprehesive training experience.

LONG:

------------------------
What you can train on:
------------------------

Melee (blade, blunt, hand to hand):

-Chaindolls (the hanging dummies)
-Hanging wooden targets (wooden panels with red bull's eyes painted in the centers)

Archery/Marksman (bow):

-Hanging wooden targets (wooden panels with red bull's eyes painted in the centers)
-Hay bail targets (hay bails on stands with red bull's eyes painted in the centers)

------------------------
How do you train?
------------------------

Training is very simple. In fact, it's as simple as drawing your weapon, looking for the glowing training implement, and whacking it!

But there are a number of finer points you will want to know.

--The mod sports a visual notification system that tells you a number of things:--

If the training implement glows...

-White - you have acquired this object as your training target for the training mode (melee vs. archery) you are in (defined by the weapon you have equipped)
-Purple - the training target is OFF because you have done the following:
* Put your weapon away
* Got into combat
* Moved too far away from the target (for Melee mode this is 500 units--or the average length of a room. For Archery this is 2001 untis, about half the length of a cell.)
To reacquire a target, all you need to do is: move closer to the target, draw your weapon, or get out of combat.
-Red - you have successfully hit the target
-Green - you have missed the target

This gets into the finer details of the training system.

------------------------
Miss Chances
------------------------

Every hit has a chance of missing. This miss chance is based on a random roll compared to your skill plus your luck divided by 4.

So, if you have a skill in Hand to Hand of 30 and your luck is 50, then any number rolled below 42.5 will hit the target. Any number above will result in a miss.

This means that at lower levels, you will miss your target very often. However, if your skill is very high and your luck is very high, you will almost always hit the target. If you are a Master, you will always hit the target.

This creates a realistic representation of actual training. The better you are at something, the more accurate you are at hitting it.

------------------------------------------------
Moving Around Grants Experience
------------------------------------------------

That's right. This works for all training modes.

If you sidestep or move around your target a little bit, you will not only get experience in the skill of the weapon you are using, but you will also gain a small amount of Acrobatics and Athletics experience.

This is intended to encourage the player to simulate actual battle situations and improve their aim as they move about a target and dodge blows.

------------------------
TRAINING MODES
------------------------

To enter a training mode, draw a weapon and look for a target to glow white. The weapon you have drawn will determine the training mode.

------------------------
Melee
------------------------

When in melee training mode you have one of the following types of weapons equipped and drawn: Hand to hand (no weapon or staff), Blunt (axe, mace), Blade (swords, daggers).

Melee training mode works as follows:

IF:

-You successfully hit the target, you will gain a small amount of exp appropriate to your skill level.
-You look too far away from the target, you will miss. (The range for hitting the target when looking at it is a 90 degree cone.)
-You look at different areas of the target, you will gain an extra amount of exp.
This is to encourage the player to practice hitting different parts of the target and simulate an actual battle situation.

------------------------
Archery/Marksman
------------------------

When in archery training mode you have a bow of some kind equipped and drawn.

Archery mode works very differently from melee mode due to the nature of using a bow.

It works as follows:

-Archery mode is divided into different levels of ranges (novice, apprentice, journeyman, expert, master) that ARE NOT dependent on your actual skill level. Instead each range is get at a certain amount of distance from the target. You will be notified every shot of what range you are in and how far you are shooting from in feet.

-The further you are from the target, the more experience you get.

-In addition, each range level comes with a cone within which you can hit the target. By this I mean that at Novice range at 400 units, you have a 30 degree cone within which your shots will have a chance of hitting. Outside of this cone, you will surely miss. At Master range at 1800-2000 units, you have a 10 degree cone to hit the target.
As you can see, hitting the target gets harder and harder the further away you are. When you are far away, you are encouraged to try to hit the target dead-on. In a battle situation, you would be attempting to kill the NPC before it noticed you and getting the shot right the first time is important.

-There is NO BONUS EXP for looking at different areas of the target. Instead, your skill exp increase is greater for every shot in comparison to Melee mode. This is to compensate for the previously stated fact and for the slower speed of a bow. However, moving around WILL give you extra exp.

------------------------------------------------
How do I exit a training mode or switch modes?
------------------------------------------------

To switch training modes, all you have to do is put your current weapon away and switch to another weapon.

To exit training all together, put your current weapon away and do not draw it again while in the vicinity of any potential targets. Or you can move far enough away from any current targets
This sounds stringent, but the script takes care of most of the turning off and on and has methods for reducing performance hits.

------------------------
Performance
------------------------

As implied above, the script sets the number of times the quest is run per frame. When training mode is turned off, the quest runs every 5 seconds. When it is looking for a target, it is run every second. When a training mode is activated, it is run every frame.

These speeds are done to ensure that:

-Your performance is not hit too terribly.
-Hitting the target while training is not sluggish.
-And acquiring a target is relatively quick.
