About this mod

Adds 6 new critters to Oblivion... Giant Spiders, Giant Wasps, Shalk Beetles, Glowing Oozes, Red Fungus & Necrotic Sludge.

This mod introduces 4 new ‘nuisance’ critters to Oblivion.

Giant Spider (Lore Friendly)
Shalk Beetle (Lore Friendly… my interpretation of Morrowind Shalk Beetle)
Glowing Ooze (Lore Friendly-ish & SO FUN!)
Red Fungus ("")
Necrotic Sludge ("")
Giant Wasp (Lore Friendly-ish)

Each critter* is considered a level “1” beastie, but they are a little more fierce than say, a rat or mudcrab.

*except the Red Fungus & Necrotic Sludge, which start at lvl 3 & 5, respectively.

Yes, I know that a giant spider fashioned out of the bottom of a spider daedra is nothing new, but I assure you that
I did [the same thing to make] this one myself and added shiny black eyes and pincers, to boot.

Each critter also has a unique ingredient that will sometimes drop.

SPECIAL THINGS TO NOTE:

Glowing Oozes disintegrate weapons & armor, so steer clear! They also drop random garbage they may have picked up...

Spiders possess a strong poison that both paralyzes and damages health... but a level 1 can still survive the battle.

Spiders, Oozes and Beetles will level up to level 3. Wasps stay at level 1. Red Fungus levels up to 5, Necrotic Sludge to level 10.

All meshes derived from Bethesda originals or were entirely invented by myself
Some textures were adapted from random pictures of bugs found on the internet.
Otherwise, textures derived from Bethesda originals or were invented by yours truly.
Animations are Bethesda Originals. I possess nothing with which to customize them, except clever use of weightpainting.

KNOWN ISSUES:

Red Blood on the ground, despite my custom blood decal. I don't know how to fix this. :(

This mod can safely be used with Little Baron's Ghouls & Mummies, of course.

Update 1.0 to 1.1:

-fixed ooze mesh so that it does not appear to be split in half at times. How did I not see that before??
-changed shalk beetle shell texture to an oily black, like the morrowind version.
(If you prefer the color version, the texture is still there... labeled "OLD_"... Just switch 'em)
-Added specularity (gloss) to the world versions of the ingredients
-Changed beetle resin icon to match new texture.
-Fixed a really stupid oversight that made the ooze attempt to disintigrate it's own weapon.
-Made it more likely that the ooze would contain random junk.

UPDATE 1.1 to 1.5:

- Added the Red Fungus & Necrotic Sludge + their respective ingredients, see pics.
- Made some more tweaks to the Glowing Ooze mesh

I do not intend to mess with this anymore unless someone points out a remarkable flaw. I promise.
