1. INFORMATION ON THE MOD
************************************************************************
A three level dungeon full of tough creatures. The cave is constructed with a new
tileset featuring dark-colored walls and bright glowing crystals. This mod is both a playable
dungeon for high-level characters, and a modders resource for people who want to build new caves
with a different look to them.

The cave entrance is south/southwest of Chorrol, north of Fort Dirich, west of Rock
Bottom Caverns, and east of Nonungalo. The cave is loaded with randomly spawning creatures.
Their number depends on chance. On the largest level, there could be anywhere between zero and
sixty enemies, with an average of fifteen.

The creatures are tougher than you would expect, and have special immunities to
certain attacks. You may have to be flexible in your tactics. This mod is best suited to high-
level characters since the creatures spawn from a random non-leveled list. At any level, you
could encounter pathetic weaklings or tough brutes you need to run away from.

The cave walls are made of dark-colored stone that absorbs the light. The cave ends
up being rather dark, and torches and light spells do little to make it easier to see.

Inside the cave, you will find amazing displays of huge crystals of many colors. If
you search them carefully, you will find some of them that have loose pieces that you can take
home and display in your trophy room. There are samples that you can collect of each color of
crystal, for a total of 14 different kinds of crystals. These magical crystals grow rapidly in
their special cave, so you will be able to go back again to find more after they have respawned.

This mod was designed as a modders resource for people to use to build their own
dungeons that they could upload and share with the community. The mod is structured as an
.esm and an .esp. This allows modders to simply have their mods use the .esm as a master rather
than having to copy things from the mod to their .esp, or master their .esp to another .esp which
can be annoying and potentially hazardous.

A modder can just duplicate one of the existing cells in the .esm and immediately start
building his or her own cave. All the objects are laid out at the edge of the map where they can be
examined and grabbed. People do not have to spend their time scrolling through long lists of
unfamiliar static objects in the CS Object Window.

The tileset consists of retextured cave tiles from the Oblivion cave tileset. They
are retextured to dark brown, and the textures have been applied so that they can be rotated,
unlike in the original Oblivion Cave tileset. There are stalactites and stalagmites retextured
to the same shade of brown. There are retextured brown boulders of many sizes for use as clutter,
or as walls, floors, and ceilings if you make a dungeon completely out of boulders. There are
also the static crystals in 14 colors and 5 meshes of each color. There is a loot item crystal
in each of the 14 colors.

For more information on how to use the tileset, consult the document, "How to Make
Dungeons Using the Crystal Cave Tileset" which is included in the download file.

It is my hope that this tileset will be something that other modders will want to use,
and that they will utilize it to build and upload mods that I can play.

2. Installation
************************************************************************
This file uses both an .esm and an .esp.

Extract (decompress) the .esm, .esp, meshes, and textures, to your Oblivion directory.
The default is:
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\
If asked if it is okay to merge folders, say yes. Mark the boxes next to the "Crystal Cave Tileset"
master and "Crystal cave Dungeon" plug-in.

Alternately, extract someplace else. Then move the .esm, .esp, meshes, and textures to
Oblivion\Data. If asked if it is okay to merge folders, say yes. Mark the box next to the master
and plug-in in your mod manager.

The dungeon is not playable unless you install both the .esm and the .esp. For modding
work, you only need to install and activate the .esm.

With this experimental new tileset, there are unavoidable tile texture discontinuities
when tiles are in certain positions.

The creatures are not what you would expect.

The caves are intentionally rather dark, and torches do little to make them lighter.

The larger you make the cave tiles in your dungeon, the lower the resolution they will have.

If you locate a bug, contact David Brasher on TES Nexus so that the situation can be
examined and hopefully be fixed.
