Description

In vanilla Oblivion all skeletons look the same. With this mod they will wear different sets of armor depending on their rank (guardian, hero...) and combat specialization (melee or archery).

List of features:

1. The new skeletons (called 'Armored Skeletons') are all equipped with a cuirass, a pair of boots and a helmet. Melee-oriented skeletons favor heavy armor. Archers prefer light armor. The quality of such armor is determined by the rank of the skeleton, and it ranges from fur to elven and from iron to ebony.

2. The armor sets the skeletons wear have been retextured to look old and rusty. This has been achieved by using retextures that already had a nice rusty look and, specially, by applying a Sobel filter on the normal maps of such textures.

3. Skeletons using armor should be tougher than armor-less skeletons. To account for this fact, Armored Skeletons have a shield spell bonus applied to them. The shield spell is permanent, constantly active and offers as much protection as the armor the skeleton wears should. The mildest shield spell will absorve 14% of the damage dealt by your (non-magic) attacks. The strongest shield spell will absorve as much as 42% of the damage.

4. Armored Skeletons will NOT replace vanilla skeletons. Instead, they are added to leveled lists so that you can find both armored and unarmored skeletons in your journeys. Roughly speaking, 1 of every 2 skeletons will be armored.

5. Summoned skeletons are the only exception to the point above; with this mod, when you or a NPC summon a skeleton, it will always be an Armored Skeleton.

6. Last but not least, this mod adds a new type of skeleton called 'Mystic Skeleton'. Mystic skeletons come in two varieties: melee and archer. These guys are your typical bosses. They don't have much more health that a skeleton champion but they carry MUCH better equippment (weapons with custom enchantments) and possess special strenghts and resistances (their health slowly regenerates and magic is less effective against them). Furthermore, these guys are pure eyecandy: they wear retextured weapons and armor and have got burning eye sockets! You will start to see them when skeleton champions begin to appear. Don't expect to see lots of them though, they are supposed to be rare.
