Mod features:

  • Most everthing can be activated: candles, fire, stools, sleepmat, shutters, rug, the hidden cache; the water pump - best just to check the pictures. There are plenty more.
  • With "Weather-All Natural" installed, as it must be, this mod's interior settings have been adjusted to reflect its presence. You'll hear outside weather noises, see the effect of lightning flashes reflected on the walls; ambient light will change with the time of day. I deem it essential to providing a rich atmosphere to this game.
  • It's set up as a cabin for a loner, but accommodations have been made to move into place for one more should you need them. As you can see in my picture: Villa gets the bed and I get the pack-away sleep mat. What's with that?
  • The stools move out from under the table for use and back under to create more space.
  • The boat at your dock will fast travel to the Imperial Bridge Inn and back. Beyond that - look to your horse.
  • The cave at the top of the nearby hill does double duty as a place to keep your horses secure and a place to repair your weapons and armor.
  • The tool shed is mostly cosmetic but can and does store a few things.
  • An outdoor toilet is nearby ... but not too close.
  • There is road access. The best way to discover it, despite my detailed picture, would be to fast travel to the cabin and work your way back to the Yellow Road. Much easier for that first time using it.

One word of warning - if you do go swimming have a weapon nearby for the slaughterfish and mudcrab.

Essentials (Location, key, mod requirement, and one known conflict):

  • Location: Map marked at the elbow of the Silverfish River east of the Imperial Bridge Inn next to Ondo. Fast travel available or hoof it in via the road pictured. (Think I spent as much time leveling off that road as I did on the cabin.:)
  • Key: In the flower pot on the porch table
  • Required mods or expansion packs: Only one - Weather - All Natural by Chong Li
  • Silverfish Cabin is NOT compatible with UL-Silverfish River Valley mod. It won't crash your game but the land around the Inn will have some nasty tears in the ground. Hope someone with the wherewithal will make a patch someday.

Installation:

I recommend you do a save before installing this or any new mod in case something doesn't agree with your current mod list. Just a good practice.
Manually - Unzip the downloaded file and merge this mod's " Data" file with your Oblivion "Data" file then all will be placed where it should be. Answer "yes to all" should the question come up. Toggle "Archive Invalidation". Checkmark the mod and play.
NMM - Download and double click the mod. Toggle "Archive Invalidation" and you're good to go.

To uninstall: Remove the "1ag62NH" file from your meshes folder and the "SilverfishRiverCabin.esp".
Texture files are iffy because they're frequently duplicated by other mods but this mod added:

Other than the conflict with UL there are none I've noted, and I've had this mod for awhile now. It's been cleaned and thoroughly tested with companions. Let me know of any problems you encounter.
